Wellness and Grounding
Woke up this morning with a headache - fell asleep too late last night, busy week. Still thinking about Susie's question from yesterday about how I ground as needed.
I feel happier, more contented and joyful, than I have been in years. All feels well with work, church, my relationships, my inner life, and I’m excited about the 2 year CLM course that is beginning.
Some mornings, though, the busyness of autumn translates to waking tired, with a stiff neck and aching head. Of course, Tylenol and a more leisurely meditation help, hydration, and… grounding.
On mornings like this, I lean in more than usual to my grounding practices to ensure I do not begin the day at too low a battery setting.
A shower really helps relax those tight muscles in the back, neck, and shoulders.
Checking in with my posture to ensure I am not slumping or adding tension to my torso through my sitting position, as can easily happen on a tired day.
(Ignore the heels. Heels are awful. I wouldn’t dream of wearing them, ever.)
Deep breaths, breathing in through the fatigued and tense muscles, imagining the breath is going through the soles of my feet into the ground, and up through the ground to the top of my head.

Embodiment is being as fully in the moment as possible, in all the senses: am I warm, cool? How does the sensed temperature change? The feeling of the floor under my feet, and the chair holding me up, the keyboard under my fingertips. The smells of the room I am in. The sound of the music filling my being with a peaceful. Current vibe:
The clear and gentle morning light streaming in from the sky outside the window. The taste of a tart, sweet, juicy breakfast clementine
Heart connection, looking forward to time on the phone this morning with a very dear friend.
How do you ground yourself on tired days?
Let me hear from you any way you like. I’m always keen to learn more ways to ground and heal.
